Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced four Boko Haram terrorists to life imprisonment after they pleaded guilty to terrorism-related charges.

The convictions followed a trial in which a witness from the Department of State Services presented evidence, including confessional statements and investigation reports.

The court also convicted 14 other suspects, handing down prison sentences ranging from 20 to 25 years on various counts.

The Federal Government was represented by the Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, alongside a team of prosecution lawyers.

Those sentenced to life imprisonment include Ali Abiso, Bakura Kabiru, Ado also known as Luka Garba, and Babagoni Masawai, for their roles in terrorist activities.

The offences include participation in attacks across several communities, in violation of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

The ruling highlights ongoing efforts by authorities to strengthen national security and ensure accountability for terrorism-related crimes in Nigeria.
