Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of using state institutions to pressure opposition politicians.

The Bauchi State governor alleged that agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are being deployed to harass and coerce politicians into defecting.

He said he would not join the APC despite what he described as mounting pressure.

“I will not join APC,” the governor stated, vowing to resist any attempts to influence his political position.

Mohammed criticized what he sees as a growing trend of political intimidation.

He warned that such actions could undermine democratic principles and weaken opposition parties.

The remarks come amid increasing political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.

There has been a rise in defections across party lines in recent months, intensifying competition within Nigeria’s political landscape.
