Bashir Ahmed Declares 2027 Sokoto Governorship Ambition

Dr. Bashir Ahmed has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Sokoto State.

Addressing supporters, he said there is “no going back” on his ambition to lead the state.

Dr. Ahmed stated that Sokoto needs purposeful leadership that prioritizes education, economic empowerment, security, and social justice.

He said his experience as a cleric and community leader has given him insight into the challenges faced by ordinary citizens, especially youths and vulnerable groups.

“There is no going back. By the grace of God, I will contest the 2027 governorship election,” he declared.

The cleric emphasized that his campaign would focus on transparency, inclusive governance, and policies to tackle unemployment and poverty.

He encouraged young people and women to actively participate in politics, calling them key stakeholders in shaping Sokoto’s future.

Political observers predict the 2027 Sokoto governorship election will attract major interest, as parties begin consultations and candidate alignments.

Dr. Ahmed did not disclose his political platform but assured supporters that further consultations are ongoing. A formal declaration event will be announced soon.
