The spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition, Bolaji Abdullahi, has alleged that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is behind the internal crises affecting opposition parties in Nigeria.
Abdullahi made the claim while reacting to recent developments within the ADC, stating that regardless of the party opposition figures align with, there is always what he described as a “dark hand” of the APC working to destabilise them.
According to him, the situation became more evident following the controversy surrounding Bala Gombe, noting that APC spokespersons appeared to celebrate the unfolding crisis. He argued that such reactions suggest possible involvement or vested interest from the ruling party.
Abdullahi further alleged that the ultimate objective is to weaken opposition platforms and ensure that Bola Ahmed Tinubu emerges as the sole viable candidate in the 2027 general elections.
He warned that continuous interference in opposition parties could undermine Nigeria’s democratic process, urging political stakeholders and citizens to remain vigilant.
The ADC coalition spokesperson reaffirmed the party’s commitment to resisting external influence and strengthening internal unity, despite ongoing challenges.
