Apapa Customs Promotes Fitness Exercise Among Officers

The initiative is part of efforts to encourage work-life balance and long-term health.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Apapa Area Command, has launched a physical fitness exercise to promote the mental and physical wellbeing of officers.

The initiative is part of efforts to encourage work-life balance and long-term health.

The Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, disclosed this during a fitness session held at the Command.

He said the programme aligns with the work-life balance policy of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi.

Oshoba said the exercise was designed to help officers cope with work pressure and personal challenges.

Moreover, he noted that long working hours and the fast-paced nature of Lagos require officers to prioritise physical and mental fitness.

The CAC stressed the importance of proactive health management recalling past incidents linked to stress and exhaustion, particularly within the demanding urban operating environment of the Command.

Furthermore , he added that the initiative was not driven by publicity concerns.

According to him, the focus is to improve officers’ fitness, productivity, and ability to cope with intensive work schedules.

Officers of the Command welcomed the programme and pledged to sustain the exercise.

They said the initiative would help promote healthier lifestyles while meeting operational demands.
