The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in an analysis of the just concluded FCT Area Council poll have revealed that Official results released by INEC show that the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) recorded low voter turnout in the February 21 election.
Dr. Sadiq Umar Gombe observed that Out of 837,338 registered voters, 65,676 were accredited.
This he said represents 7.84 per cent participation, with 65,197 total votes cast, 62,861 valid votes, and 2,336 rejected votes.
Dr. Sadiq also revealed that APC secured 40,295 votes, representing 64.10 per cent of valid votes, while Eighteen other parties shared 22,594 votes, SDP polling 2,185 votes, or 3.48 per cent.

He also raised concerns about youth participation and urged stakeholders to reflect on the future of Nigeria’s democracy.
Further analyses of the remaining five area councils are expected to provide a broader picture of the overall electoral process.
