In a swift move to clear seized contraband and bolster public supply, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has auctioned off 66,500 litres of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) in Kebbi State.

The fuel, intercepted during various anti-smuggling operations along the border corridors, was sold to the public following a formal seizure and condemnation process.

The Kebbi Area Command emphasized that this exercise serves a dual purpose for deterrence and resource recovery.

This isn’t just about clearing the warehouse,it’s about ensuring that the resources meant for Nigerians stay with Nigerians,” the Command noted during the exercise.

The auction marks a significant win for the Command’s enforcement team, which has ramped up surveillance to curb the illegal outflow of petroleum products.

Officials reiterated that the NCS remains committed to “choking” the supply lines of economic saboteurs across the state’s borders.
